WorldCupMemoryGame.com was my first real foray into the world of viral marketing.  The website featured a classic game built in Flash with a sole purpose of matching pictures together.

It was the first game in Flash I built since leaving University, luckily for me there is a lot more help online these days than before, matched with a more than helpful community.
Football legends was chosen as the theme for the game to ensure that the website captured the World Cup fan base.

The website also gave me an opportunity to dust down my sales techniques as I began to approach companies to supply prizes to the website in exchange for links on the website.  I managed to secure prizes such as sporting DVDs and Replica Football jerseys.

I gained experience in using different Viral Marketing techniques, I used Myspace.com and managed to get a mention on the ever popular Yahoo Office Attachments.

Despite a relatively short lifespan of the website, it gained enough inbound links to earn a solid Page Rank of 4 in Google.
